Music Monday

He believes in you Music monday

When I first heard this song, I felt like it was for me. That has happened a lot during the years with this beautiful music. You hear a song right at the exact moment and time when you need it the most. God is pretty incredible that way, isn’t He? It has been a challenging year in a lot of ways and I haven’t felt like I could write something that would be good enough or write the right words to encourage ,when it has been difficult to find the words myself sometimes to pray. But God has still been in the midst of it all and I felt He was singing this song to me when I first heard it. I wanted to share it with all of you.

Danny Gokey is one of my favorite music artists and he never disappoints. This is a new favorite and a beautiful reminder that whatever challenge you are walking through, God is walking with you and He believes in you.  I hope you can draw encouragement and hope like I have from this touching song.

Intro:

Has your confidence been shaken

Is your faith in yourself fading

Been there too long to know what to make of it anymore

Just know that you’re stuck and can’t get free

Don’t even know what you need

Pain has become the safest of places

And you’re too tired to finish the race

And all your doubt too big to get around

Sometimes we walk through seasons that are wearisome and challenging. We can feel targeted on every side and feel like our confidence is lacking. Sometimes people or circumstances can belittle  us and hit that spot that is the most vulnerable and sensitive to us. It can make it hard to feel confident in what God may be doing in our lives.

Challenging seasons can feel long and tiring. Not knowing if something will turn around when day after day, nothing seems to change. Sometimes, even pain becomes something we are accustomed to and becomes our new normal. We may not remember who we were before it happened. A diagnosis, an ended relationship or bullying can feel like it becomes our identity. Our feelings and circumstances can be a lonely place sometimes.

Chorus:

When the waves and the wind push harder

When you feel like you can’t get through

He is there with you in the water

And He believes in you

When you’re lost and you’re broken-hearted

When your shame is an open wound

He is holding you at your darkest

And He believes in you

The One who took the cross for you

He believes in you

One of the best things about being a believer and walking life with God, is that you can be assured He is always there with you when you are going through something scary or hard. Even when we are alone and consumed in our pain, Jesus is right there next to us, feeling what we are going through. I love the title of this song and just that one line encouraged me greatly. The fact that He, the God of the universe, believes in me, just hits that spot in my heart that carries me through the tough days. It is truly amazing when you sit there and meditate on that truth.

Next Section:

He wouldn’t put you through the fire

If He couldn’t take you higher

Gotta remember He is still for you

Calls you His daughter, calls you His son

There’s no mistake that could ever take that away

I love these first lyrics:

“He wouldn’t put you through the fire, if He couldn’t take you higher..”

Have you ever heard the quote, “God gives His toughest battles to His strongest soldiers?”

This reminds me of that. When you take in who God is and that He intends to bring good out of every difficult, painful circumstance we walk through, like Romans 8:28 states, our perspective can begin to shift. There is a reason we walk through some tough valleys in life. I understand it is hard to think that there is good that could come out of the pain that we sometimes walk through. But, I believe God is good and His character can be trusted. He will take you higher and bring you out of this time. I encourage you to believe that God has a plan and better purpose for your pain that you are carrying.

God is always for you. He will always love you and fight for you. He is your heavenly father and wants to bless you. Don’t forget that amidst your pain. And if you’ve made a mistake and feel like God is mad at you, He isn’t. From personal experience, I believed that shame lie way too long. Nothing can separate you from the love of God for you. Always speak that truth when shame comes knocking.

Chorus Repeats

Next Lyrics:

He’s for you, He’s for you

When the lies try to pull you under

When you’re desperate for something true

Let your heart hear the voice of the Father

Cause He believes in you

Don’t let any other voice be louder than the voice of your heavenly father. This can be difficult in a broken world, full of broken people, with anger, resentment and division. But that is why it is crucial to fill your mind with THE truth. Not anyone else’s truth or the culture’s truth, but the only real truth, which is God and His word. God is true love. He is pure hearted and honest and loving and everything good. When others don’t believe in you and let you down or even if you don’t have the confidence in you that you want, you can rest easy knowing that God believes in you and is cheering you on. All of heaven is cheering you on and rooting for you.

Ends with Chorus

Verses related to song to encourage you with the truth:

“What, then shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” –Romans 8:31 (NIV)

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord; plans to prosper you, not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future.” –Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)

“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” -Romans 8:38-39 (NIV)

“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

 -John 14:6 (NIV)

I hope you can draw encouragement from this song the way I have. Walking through trials and valleys in life is not easy, but what is the best comfort we have, is that Jesus is right beside us. Remember that He considers you greatly and cares for you immensely.

And He believes in you ❤

All for Jesus,

Steph
