Music Bleed the same

This song is an important one, that we all need to hear right now.

As I was picking a song to breakdown this week, this one came up. The timing could not be more perfect, because of everything that is taking place in our country as we speak and as I write this.

Racism has been an ongoing, serious issue in this world for, honestly, too long.

Racism, discrimination, and judgement on many levels, take place everyday and are tough realities that people of color and gender are facing.

This song is all about this hard, real issue many face in this life.

I hope you give it a listen and can truly take the lyrics in.

We all bleed the same

We’re more beautiful when we come together

We all bleed the same

So tell me why, tell me why

We’re divided

This song starts out strong and truly speaks the honest truth and gets right to core of the massage this song is conveying:

No matter what we look like, we all bleed the same.

We were ALL created by God.

We all are equal, according to God.

Regardless, of status or race.

So, I ask you, why are we divided??

Next Section:

Woke up today

Another headline

Another innocent life is taken

In the name of hatred

So hard to take (hey!)

And if we think that it’s all good

Then we’re mistaken

‘Cause my heart is breaking (tell it, ‘Dis)

Are you left?

Are you right?

Pointing fingers, taking sides

When are we gonna realize?

I listened to this song yesterday for the first time in awhile, and when it came to these lyrics, I thought how this song seems like it was written in the past couple weeks.

Another innocent life was taken, not that long ago: George Floyd.

His life was taken because of hatred. All because his skin was a certain color.

I feel absolutely torn up inside thinking about what happened to him and so many other innocent lives because of racism.

I’m sure other people think how I think about this serious issue. How can people hate other people solely because of their skin color?

It does not make any sense to me. It saddens me deeply that that is part of the world that we live in.

When are we going to get tired of hating on each other and just love everyone for the unique person that God made them to be.

God never meant for all of His creation and children to be so divided.

Chorus:

We all bleed the same

We’re more beautiful when we come together

We all bleed the same

So tell me why, tell me why

We’re divided

If we’re gonna fight

Let’s fight for each other

If we’re gonna shout

Let love be the cry

We all bleed the same

So tell me why, tell me why

We’re divided

When I picture God’s table in heaven, I picture many different, unique people sitting there. All different in looks, in their life stories, and testimonies.

I think the most beautiful sight, is God’s people coming together and how we all are different, in our gifts and our races.

I think racism is one of the many evils of the world, because God made us ALL, including people of color and different races.

God does not make mistakes. Racism is saying that people believe that God made a mistake making colored people and people of different ethnicities.

He made us all different and unique for a reason, and that right there is beautiful.

Let us not fight with each other and cause more division, but stand together in love and fight for each other to be heard and known.

Imagine if we all stood together in love and actually acted with love in our hearts toward every single person. What a different world it would be.

Something else that I heard a long time ago that stuck with me that I wanted to share:

Who would you be friends with or attracted to if you were blind?

So often, us humans let looks control our feelings and decisions.

But, what truly matter is who we are and our hearts.

Next Section:

Tell me, who are we

To judge someone

By the kind of clothes they’re wearing

Or the color of their skin?

Are you black? (black)

Are you white? (white)

Aren’t we all the same inside? (the same inside)

Father, open our eyes to see!

We have all judged people in our lives.

But why do we ?

Judgment never comes from a place of kindness or love.

I feel it is usually to make ourselves feel better about something we are insecure about.

There is no reason to judge anyone and we shouldn’t, because we do not know what it is like to walk in their shoes or know the battle they are currently fighting.

So, lets be kind, because we are all the same inside and equal in Gods eyes.

If we struggle with judging others, we need to pray to our Father in heaven to open up our eyes and change our hearts.

Chorus repeats

Only love can drive out all the darkness

What are we fighting for?

We were made to carry one another

We were made for more, said

Only love can drive out all the darkness

What are we fighting for? yeah

We were made to carry one another

We were made for more!

Love is the most powerful emotion we can feel in our lifetime and the most powerful force in the universe.

Love is what saved us all through Christ and what He did for us when He died on the cross.

Love was His reason.

More darkness cannot drive out darkness, only love can do that..

Chorus Repeats

Last Section:

So Father God, I pray

That our families will come together right now

And seek Your face

You will forgive our sins

And You will heal our incredible land

In the name of the only Savior, Jesus Christ

Amen

I love how this song ends with a prayer that we can all pray to our God.

Praying for others is the most beautiful thing we will ever do.

Prayers are powerful and God hears every single one.

We need to repent, devote ourselves to prayer, and ask that he lavish His divine healing on all that desperately need it.

Verses Incorporated in Song:

“This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.” 1 John 3:16 (NIV)

Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.” -1 Peter 4:8 (NIV)

“The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” – 1 Samuel 16:7

“Do not judge, or you too will be judged.” -Matthew 7:1 (NIV)

Do we not all have one Father? Did not one God create us? Why do we profane the covenant of our ancestors by being unfaithful to one another?” – Malachi 2:10 (NIV)

Over and over again in Gods word we see the character of God, the mercy and grace He has on us sinners, how He does not show favoritism toward one group of people or race, and how we were ALL made equal under Him, in His image.

I do not know if all will believe that powerful truth on this earth someday, but what a beautiful sight it will be, either here or in heaven, all of God’s children hand in hand, regardless of race, praising Jesus in pure joy.

I hope you give this song a listen. It’s a powerful one. Enjoy this Music Monday!

Hope you have a blessed week!

All for Jesus,

Steph
