Joy in the morning by Tauren Wells
True joy comes from God. I have learned this throughout my walk with God. Feeling joy isn’t always easy in a world of brokenness but with God, joy is always available to us to tap into because it is what He planted in each of us as his children. Sometimes things can look and feel different at night and with God, you can find joy in the morning. I can think of moments in my own life that I have experienced that joy and that verse. This song is a beautiful message of God’s joy and how he can work in your life.

I have always been a big believer that everything happens for a reason and there are no coincidences. God is in control. Of course he does not cause bad things to happen but I believe certain events and things that happen are for a reason. And just like in my last blog post, like this lyric line says, you will never have peace if you don’t let go of tomorrow and its sorrows.
“Cause it ain’t even faith till your plan falls apart but you still choose to follow…” I love that so much. How true is this about our walk with Jesus. You do not know how strong your faith is and how committed you are to following him until your plan falls apart. I have experienced this in the past couple years and still choosing to follow God was the best thing I did. I just love this line so much. Looking back, in the middle of my painful circumstances, they didn’t make sense to me. It was confusing but now I see where God has molded my character more, how he really showed me who he is and what I went through taught me so many little things. We really do understand life backwards.

I believe it is ok to feel what you are really feeling but giving into how you’re feeling truly makes you feel like you are drowning in darkness. Feelings fluctuate and our feelings do not always reflect the truth. The enemy can plant thoughts and deceive us. In challenging seasons it can definitely feel like everything can be falling apart but God will never let you go and it’s important to remember in our perspectives that the story is not over in those moments of pain. Because pain narrows our perspective.

It is amazing how God can work and all the details He can orchestrate together. He can turn things around in a moment. The morning will come and there will be joy again. There is a peace that comes only from God and that joy is possible, especially when you are wholeheartedly following Him and relying on Him and believe in His promises.

I hope this song encourages you and reminds you that choosing to follow Jesus is the best path, even when we go through challenging seasons. Believe in His promises and in his power and I believe you will feel His joy and peace. I know I certainly have experienced his joy through the tough seasons in my own life.
