Music Monday

This song paints such a beautiful picture of who Jesus is to me. 

When I was first listened to it, I found myself so emotional over it. I felt like if I were to write a song about Jesus and who He is to me, this is exactly the song I would write.

It is an amazing worship song to put on and praise His name.

Oh, yeah

Some people think You’re distant, just some words on a page

That You’re nothing more than fables handed down along the way

But I’ve seen You part the waters when no one else could pull me from the deep

That’s who You are to me

This song starts out by saying what I have heard a lot: 

That the bible is outdated and Jesus is nothing but a myth.

When people say that at first I feel sad for them but then I smile and feel so much gratitude in my heart, that I know God and He has shown me who He is and nothing could ever break that personal, intense faith that I have with Him. 

He has parted the red seas of my life and speaks to me in the depths of my soul and that is who He is to me.

Some people think You just live in cathedrals made of stone

But I know You live inside my heart, I know that it’s Your home

And I’ve seen You in a sunset and in the eyes of a stranger on the street

That’s who You are to me

Some people can get caught up in religion and going to church that they can forget that having faith exists on everyday of the week, not just in church on Sundays. Jesus dwells in our hearts and with Him in heaven, is our true home.

The last sentence of this section of lyrics makes me emotional because the two things mentioned I have personally experienced in my own faith so deeply. 

I feel I connect with Jesus through the sunsets everyday and always see Him in the midst of the sky. And I have experienced the kindness of strangers and felt Jesus’s presence through them.

Jesus is all around us and we can experience Him in so many magnificent ways. You just have to be open and aware of Him.

We will never be able to completely fathom how amazing and faithful God truly is. 

What we feel now, will be so amplified in Heaven, when we get to set our eyes on His actual eyes.

God is love and can be trusted with what He promises us.

I know I have experienced His love and faithfulness in the many miracles I have witnessed myself in my own life.

When I am empty, He fills me back up and reminds me He is right beside me and will never forsake me.

He is the air I need everyday and all the things/ways I get experience Him in, is exactly who Jesus is to me.

Sometimes I have my doubts, I’m sure that everybody does

And I wonder when I stumble, am I still worthy of Your love?

But I know that I get stronger when I’m talking to You down on my knees

You’re everything I need

All of these lyrics I can relate to and I have thought before.

We are flawed and will make mistakes but our sins and mistakes do not define us. Jesus does.

I have gone through many seasons, emotions, and ups/downs with Christ, but I believe He expects that, because we are humans , will have questions and go through trials and tests of our faith.

But like this songs says, one thing I know for sure is I DO get stronger when I am on my knees talking to Jesus. He is my strength through all my weaknesses and trials I walk through.

I am constantly in awe of who Jesus is.

He conquered death, talked to outcasts, sinners, and responded with kindness to everyone, regardless if they loved Him with all their hearts, or spitted in his face.

He loves us with a love that is so powerful and forgives our sin in an instant.

He heals, redeems, and is always by our side.

He amazes me.
